MovieScore Media is a soundtrack record label based in Sweden, founded by film music journalist Mikael Carlsson in 2005. The company is devoted to make high quality film music available on CD and online and the goal is to find and release interesting and original film scores where the quality of the music, rather than commercial properties of the film itself, is the main priority. During MovieScore Media's first two years in business, it produced and released over 35 original film scores, including Academy Award-winning composer Dario Marianelli's "I Capture the Castle" and "Beyond the Gates", Francis Shaw's Ivor Novello Award-winning score for "Evil", Andrew Lockington's "Skinwalkers", Scott Glasgow's "Hack", Caine Davidson's "An American Haunting", Jeff Grace's and Anton Sanko's "The Last Winter", Brett Rosenberg's "Half Light", Edmund Butt's "The Dark", and Benjamin Wallfisch's "Dear Wendy". MovieScore Media was nominated for the 2007 "Soundtrack Label of the Year" award by the International Film Music Critics Association.
